About the role

This role is responsible for overseeing the collection and storage of health information and the overall management of client related information. The Health Information Manager is responsible for ensuring cohealth is meeting legislative, best practice and consistency of client health information, and contributes to the delivery of effective and efficient health services by supporting client management systems and all data central for service delivery, decision making, and consumer care planning.

Your duties include:

  • Provide high quality strategic and operational advice to managers across the organisation on health information management issues and legislative requirements pertaining to client health information
  • Ensure staff are aware of the statutory and regulatory requirements of maintaining and sharing client health information across and outside of the organisation
  • Evaluate risks in current and proposed processes and provide recommendations to adequately manage
  • Oversee processes related to client health records management

Our ideal candidate:

  • Tertiary Qualification in a Health Information Management or equivalent qualification and eligibility for full membership to the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA)
  • Significant experience in a similar role providing health information advice and technology solutions
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively

All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory Police Check, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), complete a Pre-Employment Declaration Form, evidence of legal rights to work in Australia, and evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 (3 doses).

Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of immunisation assessment including Influenza within 12 weeks of commencement [B]. This is in accordance with the Victorian Minister of Health Mandatory Vaccination Orders for COVID-19 and legislated requirement for influenza vaccination.
